By Nitz Arancon CITY police director Faro Antonio Olaguera yesterday cried foul over allegations of a rub-out in the raid that resulted in the killing of a “pastor” in Barangay Kauswagan here at dawn Wednesday. “That’s unfair,”  Senior Supt. Olaguera said of accusations aired on local television that officers who carried out the raid shot and killed suspect Rene Reyes without a justifiable reason. Reyes, allegedly a pastor of The Lord Reigns International Ministries, was killed when police barged into his home at Spider Compound, Zone 6 in Barangay Kauswagan. Olaguera said Reyes was in the police list of drug suspects, and he allegedly fired shots at the raiding team. Olaguera said the “pastor” was armed with a caliber .45 pistol which he used against members of the Carmen police, City Public Safety Company, and a special unit of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo). He said the police’s response was justified. “We believe firing back was a reasonable force or necessary force, otherwise basin ang atong mga pulis ang mamatay.” Olaguera also maintained that Reyes had two caliber .45 pistol and ammunition which officers seized after the shootings. But over ABS-CBN, alleged witnesses alleged that police officers shot Reyes while he was surrendering. They alleged that Reyes’s hands were raised, and the suspects was begging officers to spare him when police fired shots.
