OF the 458 “new arrivals” in the city since March, only 115 people are still under quarantine and one showed symptoms of respiratory illness, City Health Office chief Dr. Lorraine Nery announced this morning.
“Only one manifested symptoms of mild (acute respiratory illness) and is undergoing treatment. Sa pagkakaron wala na siya’y gibati nga progression,” Nery said.
She added that they are expecting “50 plus new arrivals” from the cities of Zamboanga, Manila, and Cebu in the coming days.
Nery reiterated that the “new arrivals” are residents of the city who have been stranded in other parts of the country.
As for people who have had close contact with Covid-19 patients in hospitals across the city, Nery said they have contact traced some 555 individuals. Of this figure, only 78 persons are still doing their mandatory quarantine.
“Some of them are under home quarantine and a few of them are in City Isolation Units. The 78 persons include those who have had close contact sa Covid-19 positive patients from Camaman-an, Carmen, ug Lumbia. Most of these contacts already tested negative for our Covid-19 swab test,” said Nery.
For his part, city epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported that they have contact traced one more individual who had close contact with the Covid-19 patient from Carmen.
“Naa siya karon sa City Isolation Unit. Na swab na sad siya adtong Sabado,” Retuya said adding that all close contacts of the Covid-19 patient from Lumbia, tested negative for the disease and all have finished their 14-day mandatory quarantine. (Cong B. Corrales)
