MAYOR Maximo Seno of Opol, Misamis Oriental over the weekend frowned over rumors that he died.
“I would like to tell the people of Opol that they have nothing to worry about,” Seno told the Gold Star Daily over the weekend.
Seno said he was flooded with calls after ex-councilor President Elipe claimed over Magnum Radio on Saturday that he received text messages that the Opol mayor was already dead. The former councilor hosts a public affairs program being aired regularly by the radio station.
Seno frowned over the practice of broadcasting claims made via text messages without validation.
“Pasagdi nalang na sila, dili man kana tino-od. I’m still alive and still kicking,” he said.
But Seno revealed that he came from the US where he underwent medical treatment. He did not say what his ailment was but mentioned “chemo.”
Seno reported back for work this March 1, ending his three-month leave of absent.
