CAGAYAN de Oro City, under the administration of Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy, is making significant strides towards becoming a prime investment destination in Mindanao. 

This was revealed by Sheila Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff of the City Mayor's Office, during a press conference held on Wednesday.

Lumbatan highlighted the city government's commitment to streamlining its operations, aiming to create a business-friendly climate that attracts both domestic and foreign investors. 

"The administration recognizes the importance of cooperation with local industries and academic institutions in achieving this goal," said Lumbatan.

Like, Lumbatan, Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Inc. (Oro Chamber) president Ray Talimio also commended City Hall's efforts. 

He emphasized the strong collaboration between the local government, industries, and the academe in fostering an environment conducive to investment.

To further promote investment opportunities in the city, Cagayan de Oro will be hosting the Oro Best Expo 2023, according to  Lumbatan.

The five-day event, scheduled from October 4 to 8, aims to showcase the city's potential and attract potential investors. 

Additionally, Lumbatan said a Cagayan de Oro Investment Forum will take place on October 5 at both the Shangri-La Plaza Mall and Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.

The investment forum will serve as a platform for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors to discuss the city's economic potential, investment incentives, and available opportunities, she said. 

"It will provide valuable insights into the city's development plans and highlight the advantages of investing in Cagayan de Oro," said Lumbatan.

She added that Mayor 'Klarex's administration is dedicated to creating an investment-friendly climate that fosters economic growth and development in Cagayan de Oro City. 

Through collaborative efforts with local industries and academic institutions, the administration aims to attract domestic and foreign investors, ultimately positioning the city as a prime investment destination in Mindanao, Lumbatan stressed.
