CITY College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) President Dr. Jestoni Babia reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to quality education and inclusivity during a press conference today, February 19.

Babia emphasized the college’s strong academic foundation, noting that all 40 professors hold master’s degrees, with 30% to 40% possessing doctorate degrees.

“We provide quality teachers, and we also provide quality services,” Babia said.

The institution prides itself on inclusivity, offering support for students with disabilities, including counseling, tutorial services, and homeschooling programs.

To address financial challenges faced by students, Babia highlighted interventions such as free bus rides provided by the city government and additional assistance through the City Scholarship program.

“Our city mayor has provided free transportation for our students,” Babia said, citing fare costs as a common struggle.

Additionally, CCCDO has launched a series of life skills programs designed to provide free training for students, local officials, and residents.

These short-term courses include certificate programs in Educational Leadership, Data Policy Development, Conflict Management, and Effective Communication.

“These life skills programs are different from existing programs recommended by CHED,” Babia said.

The college also encourages Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members and barangay officials to participate in these programs.

“In fact, we also cater to our SK and barangay officials because one of their challenges is understanding government policies on budget management, in partnership with the local DILG,” Babia added.

City College of Cagayan de Oro remains dedicated to equipping students and the community with essential knowledge and skills, ensuring equal opportunities for education and personal growth.
