CITY government of Cagayan de Oro successfully organized a summit led by the Human Resource Management Department (HRMD) under the supervision of HRMD Department Manager Xsyclyn Faith 'Kansai' Lumbatan to celebrate the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
"The summit took place recently at the VIP Hotel in the city," said City Mayor's Office chief of staff Shiela Lumbatan.
The summit was attended by administrative officers and HR focal persons from various departments of the LGU-CDO.
It aimed to provide valuable insights and knowledge to enhance their skills in public service, according to Lumbatan.
Esteemed resource speakers graced the summit, including Marianne V. Andrade, Chief Human Resource Specialist from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office X.
Also present were Bernadette Ann R. Paalam, Chief of the HRMD Human Resource Development Division, Atty. Rowena G. Gingo, Acting Director II of the CSC Field Office - Misamis Oriental, and Felix B. Cabuguas Jr., National Organizer/Educator of the Philippine Independent Public Sector Employees Association (PIPSEA).
During the summit, Engr. Brandon M. Pinto from the City Engineering Office was recognized as the regional awardee in the Honor Awards Program, highlighting his outstanding contributions to public service.
Lumbatan stressed that the summit aimed to serve as a reminder to administrative officers and HR focal persons about the essential qualities and skills required to provide excellent public service to the people.
"It emphasized the importance of dedication, professionalism, and continuous learning to enhance their performance in serving the community," said Lumbatan.
She added that the LGU-CDO remains committed to promoting and upholding the principles of the civil service as it moves forward in its mission to deliver efficient and effective public service to the residents of Cagayan de Oro.
