THE lone Cagayanon admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) after testing positive for Covid-19 has recovered, Mayor Oscar Moreno disclosed to the Gold Star Daily tonight.
"Yes, he tested negative already, thank God!" reads a text message sent by Moreno when he was asked for confirmation.
Moreno said the result was released this afternoon based on the information he received from city health officer Lorraine Nery.
The 71-year-old man was first admitted to the hospital after he fell ill following a trip to Manila. He showed signs of recovery and was discharged already last month only to be re-admitted after a laboratory test showed him infected by the virus.
But while in the NMMC, he showed signs of being well, according to NMMC director Jose Chan in an earlier news conference.
Despite that, the man, who is from a barangay near city hall, was quarantined at the NMMC pending the laboratory test result. The result made known today showed that he was no longer infected. (Herbie Gomez)
