IN the last 24 hours, the city has welcomed 55 people, bringing the total number of “new arrivals” from March to 592.
At the 60th daily press briefing this morning, City Health Office chief Dr. Lorraine Nery said 34 people of the 55 “new arrivals” came in from Manila and are residents of the city who were stranded in other parts of the country.
Nery added that the other 21 people are residents of other regions in Mindanao and are awaiting for their respective local governments to fetch them from the city.
She said all the “new arrivals” are currently housed in City Isolation Units.
“Padayon ni sila i-monitor sa ilang health status. Lima na ka CIUs ang atong nagamit for our new arrivals,” said Nery.
Of the 592 “new arrivals,” she said 213 people are still under quarantine, 360 people have already finished the 14-day mandatory quarantine, and 19 individuals will be due today.
Nery said that from March 14 to May 21, there have been 617 people who have had close contact with suspected Covid-19 patients admitted to hospitals across the city.
She added that 102 of the 617 individuals they have contact traced are still doing their mandatory quarantine periods.
“Most of these individuals are under home quarantine kay they were monitored during our house-to-house contact tracing,” Nery said adding that four of them will finish their quarantine terms while 511 have already finished the quarantine period. (Cong B. Corrales)
