THE city government has prepared 88 isolation facilities that can accommodate 515 people as part of preparations because of the public health crisis gripping the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 80 barangay isolation units and eight city isolation units were prepared through the Humanitarian Assistance, Health, and Logistics Cluster of the Emergency Operations Center of the city government.

The facilities are for Cagayanons who come from other places like returning overseas Filipino workers, and people identified to have had close contacts with Covid-19 patients or suspected to have been infected.

Twenty-nine people have so far been placed in isolation and have completed their 14-day quarantine period in some of the facilities while some 40 others are currently using the isolation units.

People in these isolation facilities are provided with food, toiletries, medicines, and medical psychosocial intervention services, among others. They are also given structured daily activities during their quarantine period.

The city government has continued preparing more isolation facilities just in case the number of people that need to be quarantined increases. (Source: CIO)
