Over P8-million jewelry robbery shakes Oro

A robbery took place at the well-known Gold Mega Jewelry store in Cagayan de Oro city today, August 2, 2023.

In a police report, six suspects armed with rifles entered the store in broad daylight, causing chaos and panic.

Unfortunately, Judith Wayan, 57, the store owner's sister, was injured during the incident and quickly taken to Maria Reyna Hospital for medical treatment.

The robbers successfully stole a large amount of jewelry, estimated to be worth around 8 to 9 million pesos, police said. 

They fled the scene on two motorcycles, one of which was described as a Yamaha Mio, bearing plates 8410 and 940. 

Witnesses provided this information, aiding in the ongoing pursuit by law enforcement.

Authorities have set up checkpoints in strategic locations to catch the suspects and bring them to justice.
