By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent  REP. Maximo Rodriguez Jr. of the city’s 2nd District over the weekend called for the end of the multi-party system in the country. He urged Congress to establish a two political party system. Rodriguez said he filed a bill late last week that seeks to establish the two party system to complement the Rodrigo administration’s effort to change the form of government to a federal system. “Kon mag-federal na kita, dili na man mahimo kanang multi-party system. Two party system ra gyud sama sa America,” said Rodriguez without elaborating or explaining why he thought so. He said political parties would merge under a two-party system similar to the recent coalition of the Padayon Pilipino and the Centrist Democratic  Party, (CDP). Rodriguez said he was optimistic members of Congress would approve his bill because majority of them as allies of President Duterte. “Mala-omon kita nga makalosot sa Kongreso ang atong proposed bill kay ang two party system, ma-o man ang gikinahanglan sa federalism,” said Rodriguez, again, without giving an explanation.
