NEARLY two years after the killing of Adriane Rovic Fornillos, an alleged middleman in the crime has come forward, claiming guilt and seeking justice.

Fornillos, 23, was shot dead on May 9, 2023. At the time, he was representing Lapasan in the Mr. Cagayan de Oro 2023 pageant.

Investigators linked two pastors to the killing, including Pastor Dimver Andales, who was arrested at his church in Barangay Lapasan.

Authorities served an arrest warrant for murder issued by Judge Marites Filomena Rana Bernales of the Cagayan de Oro City Regional Trial Court Branch 39. No bail was recommended.

In a January 31 interview with IFM-RMN dxCC, the alleged middleman, whose identity remains undisclosed, said he decided to reveal himself due to his conscience.

“Karon pa ko nakonsensya sa akong kaugalingon. Nga andam ko mugawas mangita ko’g hustisya para ipatawag ko sa korte,” he said.

He claimed Andales ordered the killing because Fornillos was allegedly having an affair with the pastor’s wife.

“Ako iyang gihimong runner para mangita atong mga gunman,” he said adding that Andales even showed him a photo of Adriane on his phone.

According to him, he met with Andales twice—once at a hotel in Divisoria and again in April inside the pastor’s car. Surveillance on Fornillos allegedly began that month.

“Andales was in a hurry. He kept telling us to get it done,” he said in Bisaya.

The middleman claimed the contract was worth P100,000, with a P10,000 down payment. He also revealed that two gunmen were involved in the hit.

During the interview, he wore a face mask that fully covered his face. Authorities have yet to confirm his statements as the investigation continues.
