THE Cagayan de Oro Federation of Taxi Drivers Association (Cafetada) announced over the weekend they will launch a signature campaign to show its opposition to the order of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chair Winston Gines.
According to Cafetada president Bernie Jamaca they have already gathered a thousand signatures of the 2,700 taxi drivers-members operating in the city.
Aside from the support of their taxi driver-members, Jamaca said some 200 taxi operators have also indicated their support to Cafetada’s petition.
Jamaca added they would submit the signatures to LTFRB Regional Director Mandangan Darimbang today.
“Kining mga pirma magsilbe nga support document sa atong ipasaka nga petition karong Lunes,” Jamaca told Gold Star Daily.
Jamaca reiterated their organization is against Gines’ order to rollback the taxi flag-down rate to P30.
Under Gines’ order, all taxi meters operating in the city would be re-calibrated starting next month.
Jamaca said they are also against the provision in Gines’ order which nails the P3.50ate for every 500 succeeding meters after the first 300 meters.
