THE Land Transportation, Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB-10) has approved a provisionary increase of one peso for the minimum fare but only granted to all modernized and traditional public utilities throughout the country.
LTFRB-10 Regional Director Aminoden Guro said that the one peso increase is only temporary and granted to the drivers while the board is still studying the P5.00 increase in the minimum fare request submitted from the transport groups to the central office.
The P14 peso regular fare plus P1.00 is now P15 for modernized vehicles while for traditional jeepneys from P12 to P13, Guro said.
The succeeding kilometers are not included in the provisional fare hike, Guro added.
“Bisan unsa kalayo sa imong biyahi nga lapas na sa minimum fare peso ra gyud ang imung idugang,” reminds Guro.
He said privileges of 20% discount fare is also applicable for students, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.
The privilege fare for modernized units is P12 and for traditional is P10, Guro said.
The effectivity of the provisional increase will start at 12:01 am on October 8, this year.
No fare matrix will be issued to all public utilities mentioned in this approved provisional fare increase of one peso, he said.
