CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy emphasized the critical need for effective communication between city departments and the public.
This message was delivered during a management committee meeting with department heads recently, where he reiterated the importance of ensuring that essential services reach citizens efficiently.
Uy urged all department managers to prioritize transparency and responsiveness in their operations.
“It is vital that we all work together to deliver the services our citizens need,” he stated, highlighting that clear communication is key to addressing community needs and improving public trust.
His call to action aims to enhance the delivery of services under the city’s “Heed to Rise” initiative, which focuses on Health, Education, Employment, Development, Regional Leadership, Institutional Development, Safety and Security, and Economic Development.
The mayor acknowledged the significant contributions of department heads in implementing city programs and expressed gratitude for their ongoing efforts under the RISE Agenda.
“Without your help, I would not be able to serve the people effectively,” Mayor Uy remarked, reinforcing the collaborative spirit necessary for progress.
This emphasis on communication aligns with the recent proclamation rallies held in Barangays Canitoan and Camaman-an by the One Kagay-an Coalition, led by Mayor Uy and 2nd District Representative Rufus Rodriguez.
During these rallies, the leaders highlighted their commitment to serving the community and engaging citizens in local governance, further underscoring the importance of open channels of communication.
City Mayor’s Office Chief of Staff Sheila Lumbatan said community feedback from these rallies emphasized the desire for improved services in healthcare, education, and job creation, all of which are central to the coalition’s platform.
According to Lumbatan, residents expressed their readiness to support the coalition’s vision, with many echoing Mayor Uy’s sentiments about the need for collaborative governance.
As the campaign progresses, Lumbatan stressed that Mayor Uy’s focus on communication remains a priority for the One Kagay-an Coalition.
“By fostering stronger connections between city departments and the community, they aim to build a more responsive and effective local government,” Lumbatan said.
