A wayward prime mover with a heavy trailer in tow crashed into an electric post of Misamis Oriental Rural Electric Service Cooperative II (Moresco II) at 8:30 pm on Saturday, April 22, along the national highway in Purok 2, Barangay Binitinan in Balingasag town.
In a phone interview this morning, Balingasag Chief of Police Maj. Arnold Timbal Gaabucayan said the same vehicle also hit a gray car parked near the Moresco II post and then the impact launched the car into a house.
He said the car and the house are owned by a certain Victor Alicaway.
Gaabucayan said that due to the impact, the Moresco II post toppled into a post of Dito Telecommunication, a PLDT internet post, and a cable of Converge, an internet service provider.
In a police spot report, the prime mover bearing plate 1511005 and its trailer bearing plate 120110, was driven by a certain Rosaller B. Salon, of legal age, holder of PDL with K02-03-098551, and a resident of Tulay Grande in Barangay Linggangao, Balingasag.

Gaabucayan said the prime mover was traveling bound for Butuan City coming from Cagayan de Oro City.
“Upon reaching the place of the incident the driver of the said vehicle allegedly lost control and swerved his driven vehicle to the right side outer lane. Unfortunately, it crashed and hit the electric post of Moresco II,” said Gaabucayan.
The damages are still undetermined as of this posting, Gaabucayan added.
Moresco II Power Watch reported that the incident caused a power outage to portions of Balingasag and Claveria town from 8:46 pm to 12:10 the following morning.
The affected areas were barangays Baliwagan, Blanco, Dumarait, Rosarion, Dansuli, Balagnan, Camuayan, San Francisco, San Isidro, Calawag, Quezon, Kibanban, Linabu, San Juan, Samay, Binitinan, and Hermano in Balingasag.
