A 49-year-old housekeeper from Bukidnon spent her Valentine’s Day inside the jail after she surrendered to the authorities yesterday.

Provincial Police Director Jun Mark Lagare identified the suspect as Marilou Laurente, a resident of Zone 2, Sayawan, Impasugong of the said province.

Laurente, who is tagged by police as the third most wanted person at the municipal level decided to surrender to the police after knowing she has a warrant of arrest for estafa.

Impasugong Municipal Police Station head Police Major Jaemar Paguidopon said, while other individuals were busy looking for their would-be partners, Laurente appeared at their station at 2:30 pm to be handcuffed.

Judge Rolando Venadas, Sr., of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 9, Malaybalay City, recommended the suspect P40,000 as bail bond for her temporary liberty

Lagare expressed his compliment to the personnel for facilitating the surrender.

He stated that cooperation and support of the community is the key to making Bukidnon a safe place to live.
