A 37-YEAR-OLD woman died due to post-partum complication at the city hall-run JR Borja General Hospital here on Thursday, after giving birth to twins.
Analyn Dicdican, a resident of Lower Dagong, Carmen, this city, is survived by her common-law husband, Eddie, and six children—all minors whose age ranges from four to 17 years old.
She was laid to rest this morning at the city cemetery in Camaman-an, right after a necrological service at Mount Carmen Church, also in Carmen.
With the coffin placed outside a makeshift house, a four-night wake was held.
The widower, a seasonal construction worker, is the family’s only breadwinner.
Upon knowing of the family’s dire state, a civic organization, Anti-Crime and Community Emergency Response Team (Accert), came to the rescue.
On Thursday night, Accert Cagayan de Oro city director Melody Ligtas posted online their group’s immediate relief campaign for the Dicdican family.
Accert Mindanao spokesperson Kharn Demetrio Enerio said that they had turned over thrice to the family what they had gathered.
“Many have expressed their willingness to help,” said Enerio, hinting that one of them is an overseas Filipino worker. (Uriel C. Quilinguing)
