She arrived promptly, just a few days in the aftermath of Storm Basyang.

Whom am I talking about? Vice President Sara, of course. Everyone here adored her for that; she went through the motions of providing aid and reassurance to the victims of the storm's fury.

However, she is currently facing a terrible storm of her own—perhaps due to what some might call "foolishness" on her part. This storm is called "impeachment," and it has likely caused her many sleepless nights and several public meltdowns.

In our native parlance, she has been described as "growing wild." According to recent reports (though unconfirmed), she allegedly threw a laptop in a moment of rage that nearly hit Senator Imee Marcos. One must ask: how many times has this particular presidential hopeful "gone wild," and is this behavior good for the constituents she hopes to serve if she becomes the President of this country?

Interestingly, a political analyst I spoke with refused to use the word "when." To them, it isn’t a matter of when she will become President, but rather if.

I then recalled my friend Fely, who made a sharp gesture with her hands and facial expression—mimicking the beheading of someone she hated. We all know who that "somebody" is; he is certainly not a "nobody," and he currently resides in Malacañang.

I had a good laugh at that, although it really is no laughing matter. This is just one of the many storms coming her way because of her "foolishness." I am reminded of a movie dialogue from years ago where a character said, "Amigo, to die for a woman is foolish." To which the other character replied, "But amigo, to die for money is even more foolish!"

I believe that "foolishness" is just one aspect of the impeachment storm she is facing. There are much heavier implications as well—such as allegations involving the Duterte family in the drug trade. These claims come from the father himself, who once declared a war on drugs that critics like former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, Ramil Madriaga, and even the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) have characterized as "fake" or a "kunwari war" during recent clarificatory hearings of the House Committee on Justice.

History shows that a person has the capacity to weather many storms, but the question remains: Can the VP emerge from this one unscathed?
