The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban on August 22 joins Bombo Radyo Philippines in its bloodletting activity dubbed as “Dugong Bombo” at the Barangay 24 covered court, Cagayan de Oro City.

The said event was joined by RCEU Service Director Grace Go, project chair Merlinda Rebolos, members Rtn. Ann Aquino, PP Agnes Adviento and Rtn. Alix Faburada who donated blood.

The “Dugong Bombo Bloodletting Activity” was in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro, and Philippine Red Cross –Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental Chapter. It was also joined by Cagayan de Oro City Police Officer (Cocpo), Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, City hall and Capitol employess.

The said bloodletting activity aims to boost and promote voluntary blood donation to provide sufficient supply of safe blood and to regulate blood banks. This act aims to inculcate public awareness that blood donation is a humanitarian act.

Meanwhile the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban represented by President Daisy Tiu and City Division Superintendent Cherry Mae Limbaco signed on August 14 in Barangay Lumbia a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City School Division of Cagayan de Oro for the implementation of the Project RCEU CARES (Collaborative Action in Responding Educational Challenges).

The said MOU made it possible for the said club to donate 8 Sharp Aquos 32” led television sets to be used for distance learning in far flung schools in the City to further boost their capacity to teach students from distant places of which lacks the tool or medium to implement new modalities of learning.

Video lessons prepared by the teachers and the Division office contained in a USB would be then brought to beneficiaries covered by the 8 schools to train mothers in assisting their children understand the modular materials for their children.

The said turnover was led by RCEU President Daisy Tiu and AG Emma Tan of D3870 and was received by the school Principals. (pr)
