The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 14 school divisions from across the region, making it a remarkable gathering of educators and learners.

The main highlight of the caravan was a quiz bee that focused on basic and essential facts about climate change.

The primary objective of this activity was to enhance the learners’ understanding of the impact of climate change and equip them with knowledge on how to mitigate its adverse effects on our environment.

By facilitating hands-on learning experiences, the caravan aimed to empower the learners to become advocates for environmental preservation in their respective schools and communities.

The successful execution of the Regional Climate Change Caravan exemplifies the commitment of DepEd Region X to prioritize climate change education and resilience-building among the youth.

Through such initiatives, the education sector aspires to shape future generations who are well-informed, responsible, and proactive in addressing the challenges posed by climate change.

Led by our Regional Director Arturo B. Bayocot,  together with lawyer Candice Razon, the OIC-ESSD Chief, we expressed our gratitude to all the participants and organizers who contributed to the success of the event.

They emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts in raising awareness about climate change and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship among the youth.

The 2023 Regional Climate Change Caravan served as an essential platform for the learners to gain a deeper understanding of the pressing need for climate action.
