A YOUNG man was stabbed dead after he tried to pacify a quarreling couple in a bar near the Agora terminal in Lapasan on Tuesday night.

Authorities identified the dead as 23-year old Richard Ubaub of Lapasan.

Police said Ubaub was stabbed in a karaoke bar on Gaabucayan St. near the Agora police station.

Police identified the suspect as Archie Labadan, 34, of Zamboanga City. He works for an establishment in Lapasan.

The suspect reportedly ran off, and police are looking for him at presstime.

SPO2 Jerome Diolanto said Ubaub succumbed to a lone stab wound in the chest.

Ubaub was rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center where he died hours later.

Meanwhile, a man and his son were hurt in a gun attack in Sitio Dalirig, Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon on Tuesday night.

The victims–Antonio Mata, 42, and his son Mark Anthony–were rushed to the NMMC for gunshot wounds.

Antonio said he heard a knock on the door and when he opened it, two persons suddenly fired shots at him.

He said the assailants fired shots again when his son tried to help him.

Antonio sustained gunshot wounds in back, leg while his son was hit his stomach, left part of the torso and arms.

Senior Insp. Roland Donor, deputy commander of Manolo Fortich police, said  investigators found empty shells from a caliber .45 pistol some six meters from the house of the victims.

“Murag tira pasagad lang ang gihimo sa mga suspects ngadto sa ilang balay,” Donor said.
