Camiguin flags 19 gas stations for overpricing

CAMIGUIN — Governor Xavier Jesus Romualdo has launched a provincial crackdown on fuel overpricing, flagging 19 gasoline stations for exceeding the Department of Energy's (DOE) allowable price range. Following reports of diesel being sold for as high as P83 per liter in Sagay—well above the permitted P49 to P69 range—the Governor issued Executive Directive No. 17. The order mandates municipal mayors to serve show-cause orders to the violators, who now face the potential suspension or revocation of their business permits. In a formal letter to DOE Undersecretary Sharon Garin, Romualdo urged national intervention to stabilize local prices amid global market volatility. The province continues to monitor all petroleum outlets to ensure compliance with the Price Act and DOE directives.
