BARELY a fortnight since he was red-tagged with blue graffitis across his diocese, a still unidentified group is at it again. Only this time, they have included the National Anti-Poverty Commission and its acting secretary, lawyer Roseller Barinaga.
Iglesia Filipina Independiente Bishop Antonio Ablon on Thursday said Fr. John Sanchez of the IFI Diocese of Ozamiz told him they have sighted another set of malicious graffitis on Wednesday at the Pulot Bridge and the highway along with the bridge at Pulot, Ozamiz City.
Later that day, Ablon added, they also saw the other graffitis written with the same blue spray paint in Barangays Dimaluna and Tabid, all in the highway in Ozamiz City.
“This is now (a) more serious kind of vilification. Ozamiz is no longer my diocese. I believe that my life is now in danger,” Ablon told the Gold Star Daily yesterday.
Ablon said the graffitis repeatedly included his name branded as New People’s Army, along with IFI, the United Church of Christ in the Philippines, and a new addition, NAPC’s Roseller Barinaga.
He said the IFI legal counsel is currently planning legal action against suspects whom Ablon did not name yet.
“Mag file ’ta sa Joint Monitoring Committee sa GRP-NDFP [National Democratic Front of the Philippines] sa Carhrihl [Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law],” said Ablon.
Ablon was in town recently for a press conference to denounce the red-tagging of human rights advocates and members of the clergy.
