AT least five major accomplishments by the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) just within this month were reported to the city’s chief executive this morning.
Police Col. Aaron Mandia, Cocpo’s head showed Mayor Rolando Uy video clips of the cases they considered solved by his office.
On July 12, two siblings were killed in Sitio Macanhan, Barangay Carmen. The suspect was arrested and charged with homicide. Then on July 17 a Grab food rider was robbed and killed while his girlfriend was raped. The following day all the respondents were arrested. They have been charged at the prosecutor’s office with robbery with homicide.
Followed by the killing of two parking boys on July 19 and 21 in Barangay Carmen and Divisoria. All the suspects were also caught and charged in court.
The latest was the shooting incident inside a resto-bar in Corrales Avenue where a 28-year-old was killed. Police said they have already identified the suspect but would not divulge it pending the arrest of the suspect.
Mandia also included in his report other various accomplishments such as the anti-illegal drug operations in relation to Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation, the anti-illegal gambling, the arrest of wanted individuals in relation to One-Time-Big-Time, accomplishment reports on service of a warrant of arrest, and several entrapment operations, and Oplan Requisa.
Mandia said all these 44 operations have a total of 55 individuals arrested.
Uy, upon seeing all the accomplishments presented to him, promised to give financial incentives to those who are involved in the operations.
It was learned that Cocpo had just activated the peace and order drive and Oplan Requisa in various establishments across the city.
