FIVE employees of the China-based communication equipment company in Bukidnon are now in jail after they were caught in the act stealing wires Sunday afternoon.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, Provincial Police Director of the said province, identified the suspects as Adam Dehera, 47, married, a resident of Zone 11 , Barangay Lumbo; Jefrason Moneva, 23, single, a resident of Zone 3B, Barangay Kahaponan; and Vincent Dorman, 21, single, and a resident of Zone 11, Poblacion, all of Valencia City of the said province.
Another two of their companions were also identified as Jevirtte Fabricante, 29, single, a resident of Zone 15, Barangay Musuan, Maramag; and Roberto Lozada Jr., 25, single, a resident of Zone 2 , Barangay Sto. Nino, Malaybalay City of the same province.
All of the suspects are employees of FiberHome (Wuhan FiberHome International Technologies Phils. Inc) based at Valencia City.
In a police report prepared by Police Ruel Literatus, head, Kibawe Municipal Police Station, it was learned that the suspects were intercepted and caught in the act by a certain Mario Cotamora, a government employee assigned at the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) cutting and stealing telephone cable wires main line from the post number 095 to 097 owned by DICT at about 5 pm of the same date.
Recovered from the possession of the suspects were several meters of telephone cable wires, a metal saw, 2 steel ladders, a Mitsubishi L300 bearing plate number AAI3582, color white registered to Phesco Incorporated owned by FiberHome, and a Suzuki Mini Van bearing plate number MAV2576, color white, registered to Grooswood Realty Inc. and owned by FiberHome.
The suspects are temporarily under the custody of Kibawe Municipal Police Station mini-cell awaiting filing of appropriate charges.
Lagare expressed his compliment to the responding personnel for a job well done. He also encouraged the public to be vigilant in their surroundings at all times and report immediately anyone acting in a suspicious manner, or if threatened in any way.
He also stated that cooperation and support of community is the key to make Bukidnon a safe place to live and do business.
