A 38-year-old resident of Misamis Oriental was arrested by authorities on a warrant of arrest for a qualified rape case filed against him.
Police Col. Raniel Valones, Provincial Police Director identified the suspect as
Jobert Calunod, residing at Purok Masilakon 2, Barangay Poblacion, Lugait town.
Valones said, the suspect, who was tagged as the number 2 most wanted person at the municipal level, was nabbed at his residence at 6:30, this morning by members of the Lugait municipal police station, led by Police Maj. Ron Baba.
The arresting officers were armed with a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jamel Tabao Mamutuk, Acting Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 44, Initao, Misamis Oriental.
Due to the nature of the case, Mamutok recommended the suspect no bail bond for his temporary liberty.
The suspect is now under the custody of Lugait police.
