IF not for the timely presence of a police official, a motorcycle driver’s condition could have worsened.

Police Col. Raniel Valones, Misamis Oriental Provincial police director had chanced on an unconscious person lying along Masterson Avenue in Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

Valones, together with his security escorts, were traversing along the said area at around 11:30 pm when they observed a man lying on a road near a motorcycle.

Immediately, Valones ordered his men to verify the situation and they found out the man was still breathing.

They were able to get the identity of the victim as a certain Michael Jude Apit, male, legal age, and a resident of Melicia Homes Subdivision, Upper Macasandig of the said city.

It was learned that Apit is a motorcycle riding enthusiast.

The team then secured the area by controlling the flow of vehicles and redirecting the traffic.

Valones said they then contacted the city’s rescue team to attend to the victim.

The medical team had observed that the victim, who sustained bruises on the different parts of his body, was intoxicated.

Police said the incident happened by the victim’s owned moves.

The same rescue team brought the victim to the nearest hospital for treatment.
