CLOSE to P200,000 worth of shabu were confiscated by members of the Cagayan de Oro Police Office (Cocpo) inside Misamis Oriental jail Monday.

One of the accomplices, a female suspect, and her companion were arrested together with a male detainee at the provincial jail.

Police Major Julius Saluta, Cogon police station commander, in his report to Cocpo Director Aaron Mandia, identified the suspects as Allyssah Ashlimar Ismael, 24, single, a resident of Zone 10 Upper Carmen; Rogelio Bacus, Jr., 43, married, a resident of Zone 4 Brgy Agusan, and Salic Bato, 29, all of Cagayan de Oro City.

Bato is currently a detainee at Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail (MOPJ). He was about to pick up the thrown item when he was caught by jail guards.

Saluta said as was told to him by a jail guard that early that day personnel from the said jail facility already received information that somebody will deliver illegal drugs inside the jail compound.

At 9:22 pm last Monday, a motorcycle arrived and as it came nearer to the area a woman later known as Ismael threw something inside the perimeter fence.

MOPJ personnel, who were already alerted, immediately grabbed the thrown object and held Ismael and Bacus.

Jail guards on duty then called up the Cogon police who in turn arrived at the area and inspect the thrown object.

Saluta said it was a piece of black cellophane containing a cigarette pack with a big rectangular shape heat-sealed transparent plastic cellophane containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

Also seized from Ismael was a Bluetooth headset box with two big rectangular shaped heat-sealed transparent plastic cellophane containing a white crystallized substance suspected to be shabu.

The seized illegal drugs with an estimated street value at P193,800.00 were forwarded to PNP crime laboratory-10 for quantitative and qualitative examination.

A case is being prepared for filing against the suspects for violation of Section 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165.

Ismael and Bacus are now under custody at Police station 2 in Cogon.

Mandia lauded the sincerity of the counterparts in the community for being responsive and immediately reported such incidents to the authority that resulted in the timely arrest of the suspects.

He also commended the efforts of the responding team from Police Station 2 for immediately acting to the call.
