THE municipal police of Claveria in Misamis Oriental has uprooted thousands of marijuana trees Monday, this week.
Police Col. Raniel Valones, Misamis Oriental police provincial director, said personnel from the said police station, headed by Police Major Ralph Santoluma together with 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, were the ones who spearheaded the raid in the area.
According to the police, it was a concerned citizen who was looking for firewood who had chanced to discover the marijuana, who, in turn, relayed the information to the authorities.
The police report failed to mention the estimated value of the said uprooted plants which were found at Sitio, Mainantang, Poblacion at 5:50 pm.
They also did not reveal whether there were suspects arrested at the time of the uprooting.
The said report however stated that the marijuana plantation was planted on some eight hills.
The confiscated trees were turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit-10 for qualitative and quantitative examination.
