A 37-year-old person has been arrested for using his two stepdaughters as his personal sex slaves.
Police Major Julius Saluta, Cogon, Cagayan de Oro City police station commander, identified the suspect as Efren Estrada, a resident of Barangay 37 of the said city.
He was arrested while inside his residence at around 2 pm, yesterday.
Saluta said that prior to the suspect’s arrest, an elder sister of the two victims went to the said police station and lodged a formal complaint.
In the police blotter, it was learned that the suspect turned her two younger sisters, aged five and nine years old, into his personal sex slaves since December last year.
The suspect is currently a live-in partner of the victims’ mother.
In a police interview, the victims said their stepfather raped them every time their mother was not in the house.
Saluta said the suspect will threaten his victims not to tell their mother or the police or else the entire family will be killed.
The secret was only revealed when the victims took the courage to tell their ordeal to a neighbor and one of their aunties, who in turn, told the information to the victims’ elder sister.
Personnel assigned at the Women and Children Protection Desk of the said station then brought the victims to a hospital for a check-up where the rape incidents were confirmed.
The suspect is now under the custody of the said police station awaiting formal complaints.
