FOR engaging in illegal ‘swertres’ gambling, a 48-year-old female vendor is now languishing in jail in Iligan City.
Police Major Marvin Cajegas, Iligan Police Station 4 commander, identified the suspect as Evelyn Alad-ad, a resident of Novelle 2, Barangay Tubod of the said city.
She was caught in the act of collecting and tallying a bet from a poseur bettor at 4:00 pm yesterday by personnel of the said police station led by Police Capt. Glenn Niere.
Confiscated from her possession were several sheets of paper filled with ‘swertres’ number combinations, P765 cash (bet money), and a cellular phone.
The suspect together with the recovered evidence was brought to the said police station for proper disposition and filing of formal charges.
