A SECURITY guard was arrested by the police manning a Comelec checkpoint for possessing an unlicensed firearm, Saturday evening.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, Bukidnon Provincial Police Director identified the suspect as Johndi Rabacal, 23, single, and a resident of Purok 4, Barangay Palacapao, Quezon of the said province.
In a police report, the suspect was attempting to pass the said checkpoint established at Camp 1, Maramag of the same province at 8 pm manned by 2nd Bukidnon Mobile Force Company, led by Police Lt. Michael Angelo Roldan when he was flagged down by the latter sensing that his driven motorcycle has no side mirror.
When asked for his driver’s license, Rabacal only had an official receipt and certificate of registration to show the authorities.
When the police ordered him to open the bag they saw not just the documents but also a firearm. The suspect was then requested to raise his hand and arrested.
Seized from the suspect’s possession was a caliber 9mm Armscor pistol with a magazine loaded with eight bullets.
He was then brought to Maramag police station for custody with his driven motorcycle, color black with plate number 765KNZ.
