TWO residents of Cabanglasan, Bukidnon were arrested in Cagayan de Oro City for possessing a high caliber short firearm yesterday at 3 pm.
Police Capt. Kevin Continedo, Regional Mobile Force Battalion-10 (RMFB-10) head, identified the suspects as Dival Dum-ogan, 36, married; and Cerio Ecarpe, 26, married, both residing at Zone 13, Barangay Eva of the said town.
In a police report, it was revealed that before the arrest the two were onboard a motorcycle, a Baja 125 without a plate number.
Personnel of RMFB 10 who at that time conducted the One-Time-Big-Time (OTBT) checkpoint along Sta. Cecilia subdivision located at Jr. Borja street in Barangay Gusa of the same city flagged down the suspects for an inspection.
The two failed to show any documents for the unit they were riding on.
Police said, while the suspects were being asked for their identities, Dum-ogan who was sitting at the back of the driver was then requested to open the sling bag he was carrying.
When it was already opened operatives found a .45 caliber pistol without a serial number with 6 live bullets.
Police also found 3 live bullets of the same caliber in the possession of Ecarpe who was the driver of the said motorcycle.
Prompting the policemen to implement the arrest.
The suspects together with thepieces of evidences were brought to police station 3 in Agora for a booking procedure.
Appropriate cases are being prepared for filing before the prosecutor's office against the two.
