Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Army’s 4th Infantry Division vowed to strengthen partnership to intensify the government’s campaign against illegal drugs in the two regions in Mindanao.
In his visit, PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva met 4ID commander Major General Andres Centino Monday as they discuss efforts regarding the coordination of the agencies in curbing the illegal drug menace.
4ID public affairs chief Major Rodulfo Cordero said the two agencies are looking forward to working with each other to further strengthen the partnership in the fight against illegal drugs in the intensified national anti-drug campaign of the government.
Cordero said the division commander with the leadership of Maj. Gen. Centino restlessly continues its fight against insurgency.
“The diamond troopers are also one with the PDEA in freeing Northern Mindanao and Caraga from illicit drugs,” said Centino being under its area of responsibility.
Centino said that the war against illegal drugs can also be a parallel campaign of the war against insurgency being part of the priority programs of President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Illegal drugs same with the communist insurgency is victimizing the people, destroying precious lives”, he said.
Meanwhile, Villanueva thanked Centino for his commitment and hoped for the end of insurgency and illegal drugs before President Rodrigo Duterte’s term ends next year. (Ben Balce)
