ILIGAN City ― A nursing student who jumped from the Agus Bridge on July 10 was suffering from depression, police said.

That was the statement Tuesday, July 15, by Maj. Zandrex Panulong, spokesperson for the city police.

The 24-year-old was a nursing student at St. Michael’s College. Her body was recovered two days later, on July 12, from the waters near Purok 14, Barangay Poblacion, Manticao, Misamis Oriental.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead. No foul play was suspected.

Reports indicated she was seen walking along the bridge early on the evening of July 10.

Panulong said the student was from Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, and advised parents to be mindful of their children's mental state.
