IN commemoration of National Bible Day, Councilor Kenneth John Sacala, the Sanguniang Kabataan representative, delivered a special report at the Council, emphasizing the importance of reading the Bible.
Sacala’s report on Monday, January 29, brought a breath of fresh air to the city council, earning commendation from Vice-Mayor Joycelyn Rodriguez.
This marked Sacala’s inaugural special report, where he highlighted the significance of the National Bible Day Act under Republic Act 1163.
According to his report, every last Monday of January is declared as National Bible Day, recognizing the Bible as the cornerstone of the Christian faith.
Sacala firmly believes that, in dealing with constituents, the council should allow God to communicate through the Bible once again.
“Let us allow God to speak to us again through the Holy book today,” said Sacala.

He said the word of God would empower the city council to face challenges courageously and correct their course if they stray.
Sacala added that reading the Bible is an instrumental step in developing the moral character and spiritual foundation of fellow Filipinos.
Encouraging his colleagues, Sacala urged them to let the Bible guide the city towards greater heights.
“Let us hope and believe that God will be with us in doing our tasks and fulfilling our goals,” emphasized Sacala.
To further promote Bible reading, Sacala, along with his church, the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) located in Abellanosa St, is sending a box of Bibles from the Philippine Bible Society for the consumption of everyone in the council.
Vice Mayor Rodriguez commended Sacala’s report, stating that not all special reports in the council need to revolve around solving problems.
“This serves as a lesson that not all our special reports need to focus on problems,” said Rodriguez.
