Iligan City — The city government has ordered a resident here who has made a “public” market at his place at Barangay Palao to close down.

Over the weekend, Jose Pantoja, city information officer, said the permit of one Sean Ramos was only for “merchandising” and should not be operating a mini public market? The market is located near the previous market which had been demolished with the vendors doing their selling at the temporary market at Tambo at the terminal for north-bound buses and jeepneys.

Pantoja said the businessman is now being given a number of days with which to close the area and stop making a market of his own.

He added that the Ramos must stop name-dropping legal personalities of the city.

“The law should be followed,” Pantoja said. (Nora Soriño)
