MARAWI City ― As part of its intensified efforts to address the coronavirus disease crisis, the provincial government will purchase Covid-19 testing machines and kits to get a real picture of the extent of infection in the province.

Provincial Governor Mamintal Alonto-Adiong Jr. handed over a P10-million check to Amai Pakpak Medical Center chief Dr. Shalimar Sani-Rakiin for the procurement of Covid-19 testing machines.

Adiong said the same amount has also been earmarked for the purchase of Covid-19 testing kits and other medical supplies to be given to the Lanao del Sur Integrated Provincial Health Office.

These funds are sourced from the Bayanihan Grant.

He also said the provincial government has allocated funds for the second tranche of their Ligtas Covid-19 Relief Assistance Operation. Accordingly, P2 million of these funds came from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. (PIA-10)
