ESPERANZA, Agusan del Sur — An orientation on climate change was held recently at the Farmers Training Center, spearheaded by the Department of Agrarian Reform together with the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), here.

Increased risk in farming due to global warming has already been embedded in the agricultural industry of Agusan del Sur. The Department of Agrarian Reform thru the Program Beneficiaries Development Division (PBDD) had oriented the farmers of Espeanza and other municipalities about climate change.

The objectives of the climate change orientation were to give awareness to the farmers and share to them proper mitigation on climate change which the province is now facing. Farmers from Agusan del Sur are greatly affected by climate change. Low variations of rainfall can easily cause floods in other barangay sections of the province. Thus the need for strategic response. (PR)
