Committee chairman Teodulfo Lao, Jr. asked for the management plan on Monday after reviewing the submitted TMP by RTA overseer Edgardo Uy and assistant department head Nonito Oclarit before the committee.

“Collective ideas must be noted by the RTA to have a comprehensive traffic plan. Dili pa as wide as we wanted to see in the future. Sa akong nakita naka-focus lang sa duha ka area sa Cogon and Carmen. Wala nila gi-apil ang sa Puerto and other public markets in the city. Comprehensive naman siya but it is not as wide as we wanted to see,” he said.

He said RTA was supposed to submit a plan with a wider coverage by tapping the city police traffic units of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office.

“The traffic unit police in the city should be consulted. They have the knowledge and longer experienced on several traffic condition,” he said.

He also pointed out that RTA should have consulted with other sectors and offices like Land Transportation Office 10, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and other sectors in transportation, business, academe, women, and the youth.

“They should have been included in the development of the plan the two public markets in Barangay Puerto, Bulua and Agora area in Lapasan. Kinahanglan dili kini sila pabayaan sa pag-atiman,” he said.
