THE dance troop of Initao town in Misamis Oriental shone the brightest in yesterday’s dance competition as it bagged the championship and the best in costume award.
For winning the championship, the Initao dance troop will be bringing home the championship trophy and prize money of P50 thousand. They also won a trophy and P10 thousand for best in costume.
The dance troop of the Municipality of Tagoloan won the second place and the best in choreography award. The Tagoloan dance troop bagged a total of P60 thousand in cash prize plus trophies for both awards.
Coming in on third place was the dance troop of Jasaan town and will bringing home a trophy and P30 thousand cash prize.
Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano said the 5th Kuyamis Festival has put the province in the tourism map.
“It has been a big contribution to the national tourism industry despite the declaration of martial law,” he said.
