CAGAYAN de Oro Sacred Heart of Jesus Montessori School claimed victory in the 2nd Chairman’s Cup Philippines, held in Iloilo City from August 14-18, 2024.

The team triumphed against strong competition from across the region, including Cebu, Palawan, Antique, Iloilo, Capiz, Guimaras, and Negros.

Led by Head Coach Edgardo ‘Boy’ Dacoco, the team secured an 85-75 win over Team Capiz in a gripping final, marking their rise from underdogs to champions.

Their success was built on solid defense and relentless teamwork, with standout performances from Finals MVP Francis Lomongo, Mythical Five member Renbert Bulaso, and Defensive Player of the Tournament Cyjey Escalante.

Organized by Robert L. Uy, Chairman of Chairman’s Cup Philippines and SBP Regional Director for Region VI, the tournament showcased the exceptional talent and determination of the young athletes.

The Cagayan de Oro team’s victory is a testament to their hard work and dedication throughout the competition.
