TAGOLOAN Central School launched its Brigada Eskwela 2024 with a series of impactful community initiatives aimed at enhancing the school's environment and providing essential services to students and their families on July 22, 2024.
The event was organized by the Supreme Elementary Learners Government (SELG), under the leadership of President Razch Athena C. Ello and Adviser Teacher James Louie Vargas.
Principal Imelda C. Emano, Principal III, along with Brigada Eskwela Coordinator Teacher Zoren Ray S. Frias and Archie Cabingas Ello, as co-coordinator, played pivotal roles in ensuring the success of the event.
The school officials thanked stakeholders for their support, including DR. Lynneth R. Abrogueña, Tagoloan west Public Schools District Supervisor, and Tagoloan town Mayor Nadya Emano Elipe.
They spearheaded efforts to engage the community and gather resources for the various initiatives.
Brigada Eskwela co-coordinator Teacher Ello said that one of the highlights of the event was the provision of free water, ensuring that everyone stayed hydrated throughout the day.
According to Ello, this initiative was particularly appreciated given the warm weather, making it a vital service for volunteers and participants alike.
In addition to free water, the event featured a free haircut service (Libreng Alot) for students and community members.
"This initiative aimed to help families save on grooming expenses and ensure that students looked their best as they prepared for the new school year," said Ello.
A free body therapy service was also available, offering relaxation and relief to those who needed it.
This initiative aimed to promote well-being and reduce stress, recognizing the importance of mental and physical health in educational success.
Legal aid and notary services were provided free of charge, helping community members with legal concerns.
This initiative aimed to make legal assistance accessible to everyone, ensuring that individuals could address their legal needs without financial burden.
Teacher Ello added that the event also included a feeding program, ensuring that students and volunteers were well-nourished.
He said nutritious meals were provided to support their energy levels and overall health, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition in education.
A remarkable turnout of 500 volunteers from Tagoloan Community College (TCC) and the College of Public Safety and Criminal Justice participated in a clean-up drive around the campus.
"Their efforts helped create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for students and staff," Ello disclosed.
The success of the Brigada Eskwela 2024 kickoff at Tagoloan Central School was a testament to the power of community collaboration.
By involving various stakeholders and providing essential services, the SELG and school administration demonstrated their commitment to the well-being and education of their students.
Teacher Ello also said that the event not only prepared the school for the upcoming academic year but also strengthened the sense of community and support among students, parents, and local organizations.
"It showcased the positive impact that collective efforts can have in creating a better learning environment for all," Ello stated.
As the new school year approaches, Ello reiterated that Tagoloan Central School remains dedicated to continuing these initiatives and fostering a supportive, inclusive, and thriving educational community.
