Representatives from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assured members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members of Misamis Oriental to check on the various complaints raised by the beneficiaries.
Cielo C. Alcoran, 4Ps provincial link, in her appearance before the SP session on Monday said they will not hesitate to conduct immediate verification on the complaints raised by the 4Ps beneficiaries.
“We welcome affidavits coming from any beneficiaries that have a complaint about the program implementation especially in giving cash grants through automated teller Machines,” she added.
The problem was raised by provincial board member Gerardo Sabal III during Monday’s regular session. He claimed that 4Ps beneficiaries were being pressured by local government officials to follow their own rules in receiving the cash grants.
But Alcoran said there were no such things as own rules because cash grants from DSWD are given directly to the beneficiaries. However, in the municipal level distribution of cash cards is assisted by the Local Government Units from the locality.
