COTABATO City — Four persons have been confirmed dead and one still missing after motorized boats collided in Barangay Bulibud, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao last Saturday

Banjo Mampon Sultan Kudarat Administrator told reporters that it was confirmed that four persons among the 10 passengers of the pump boat coming from Maidapa going to Cotabato City are dead and one missing

He said the missing person is the operator of the motorized boat while the pump boat has identified as a certain Odin Guialil.

Mampon said the accident occurred at around 10 pm Saturday where the two motorized boats had no light which resulted in the collision.

The names of the other passengers have not been confirm yet while the police are still investigating the mishap.

Rio Grande de Mindanao is one of the widest river in Mindanao where incident happened.

Omar Taba one of the residents in the Barangay Bulibud told Gold Star Daily that it is so amazing why the two motorized boats collided despite the breadth of the river.

He said this is reminding to the pump boat owners to place a light when they travel during night time, otherwise, “this could happen again.”
