ILIGAN City — More and more newly completed road concreting projects have been turned over to the different barangays, as the 2019 Local Infrastructure Program of the Lone Congressional District of this city is being implemented.

Over the weekend, Rep. Frederick Siao, together with officials of the District Engineer’s Office, turned over to Sitio Kalubihon in Barangay Dalipuga and Purok 4A in Barangay Tomas Cabili concreted roads worth over P2 million each.

“I want all roads in Iligan concreted. However, we are limited by the annual allocations for the Local Infrastructure Program of our Office. Hence, we have to divide this amount into different barangays according to priority,” Siao said in his message at Purok 2A, Tomas Cabili.

Barangay Chair Cesarve Siacor, in receiving the symbolic key to the road from Engr. Roel Llauder who represented the Department of Public Works and Highways District Office, expressed his gratitude to Siao for the latter’s continuing assistance to the people of his barangay.

Siao added that in the next fiscal year more road concreting projects under the said program will be implemented in the city.

He also said there are other ongoing road projects being implemented by the DPWH through his initiative.

He mentioned the ongoing road construction in Barangay Digkilaan to Barangay Mainit which would connect to the road at the boundary of Misamis Oriental toward Bulua in Cagayan de Oro City.

“This would be an alternate road to the present coastal highway from Cagayan de Oro that would reduce travel time since the mountain route is shorter,” Siao said.
