Police said the woman, identified as 45-year-old Diosdada Sasil, drowned.

Maj. Julius Clark Macariola, Lapasan police chief, said relatives of Sasil were asked to allow an autopsy but they were convinced, like investigators, that there was no foul play.

Sasil, who hailed from Barangay Sto. Niño in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, was found floating in the waters near the Kolambog section of the coastal road in Lapasan past 1 pm Wednesday. She had no clothes on.

Macariola said the victim was identified by her aunt Teresita Emita, 54, of Zone 2, San Lazaro, Lapasan, who also told the police that Sasil had a mental health problem.

M/Sgt. Ronie Donasco, who investigated the case, said he saw no wound, bruise or any sign of foul play when he examined Sasil’s body.

Donasco also said some people in the area had seen Sasil swimming there before she died.
