Highest number of implants on a single day: Popcom-10 chief

AT least 226 women availed of the Progestin-Only Subdermal Implant offered by the Population Commission-10 (Popcom-10) to avoid being pregnant temporarily during their married life, recently.

This was disclosed by Popcom-10 Regional Director Jeremias Gupit said he was surprised on the high turnout and response of the women in accepting Progestin-Only Subdermal Implant, a modern family planning method provided freely through the collaboration of the Provincial Health Office of Bukidnon, the City Health Office of Malaybalay, the Department of Health, and Usaid last week.

Gupit said the highest number of women who were inserted with Sub-dermal implant in a single day was made possible because of the collaboration of the agencies and local governments where some of the service providers to assist in the activity came all the way from the Municipality of Don Carlos, and with the legwork performed by the Barangay Population Volunteers, the Barangay Health Workers and their Rural Health Midwives and Nurses.

“Mao kini ang among halad alang sa mga kababayen-an sa dakbayan sa Malaybalay og sa entire Region 10,” he said.

The delivery of services was coincided with two events, and as public servants, Gupit said what better way to commemorate the 119th celebration of the Civil the Service Month and the 2nd World Contraception Day.

He said that in offering the women of Malaybalay City like family planning information and services it would help them achieve their desired number of children.
