Iligan City — A suspect is currently under detention at Police Station 4 at Barangay Tubod, this city, following the discovery that he had apparently raped a two-year-old child on Dec.31.
Tambacan barangay chair Jimmy Sale yesterday told reporters that the suspect is identified as one Ibrahim Adiong, 27, single, a resident of Purok West East barangay Tomas Cabili, this city.
The incident happened on the said date when the father of the child was downstairs celebrating the coming new year with friends in the area at Purok 1, Tambacan, this city, Sale said.
When the father went upstairs to see his child, he saw the suspect already naked and over his child, Sale related.
The father then screamed in disbelief and nearby residents heard him and went on a lynching spree.
The suspect suffered bruises and contusions to his face and body and subsequently detained at the police station, awaiting charges.
The child was rushed to a hospital, Sale said and there, she was found to have lacerations in her genitals.
